Parenting issue with my neighbors?
My neighbor has 2 little boys one is 6 and one is 4. They love to be around me and my beagle. Recently I found out my beagle had ringworm and I got that taken care of, but I found out that my neighbors little boys had it and spread it to her. I know it had to be them because she really isn’t around anyone else. My neighbor said that her oldest son got it a month ago in his scalp and then recently it has spread to her youngest son, I was fortunate enough to catch it on time with my dog and it didn’t spread to myself. I am worried about these kids because their mom isn’t doing anything to take care of it and keeps on spreading to people, and they have bald spots in their hair from it, and I don’t want to hurt their feelings but not being around them but I don’t want to be or get my dog around them but they are kids and I know they won’t understand what should I don’t in a prediciment like this because I don’t won’t to offend the children or their mom by saying anything?
If your neighbour’s children have ringworm, they should be quarantined until the infection is cleared up. And you have every right to say that you would like that they do not come into contact with your beagle until their infection is cleared. Point out to her that the infection can be transmitted from person to person as well as to animals.
Can this neighbour afford the medication necessary to treat her children? Why hasn’t their school said something? Maybe you could contact their school to alert them to the problem.
Those poor little boys must be in a lot of discomfort.
